Pacific Crest Trail, Mt. Shasta, Castle Crags, Castle Lake, Mount Eddy, Black Butte, Whaleback, Stewart Springs area, Red Butte, Siskiyou and Marble Mountain Wilderness Area. Llama or Horse Packing available in and around Mount Shasta, McCloud, Scott Valley or Marble Mountain Wilderness area. Klamath National Forest offers trails out of Happy Camp. Anyone one of these areas can be reached from Edgewood Estates within 45 minutes. Most are within a 20-minute drive.

Castle Crags State Park located in Castella. Fowlers Campground in McCloud. Lake Siskiyou in Mount Shasta, 2 miles west of I-5 and central Mount Shasta exit. Castle Lake Campground, Mount Shasta Central off ramp towards Lake Siskiyou & follow signs. Ah-di-na south of McCloud. Railroad Park south of Dunsmuir, off of I-5. Sheepy Ridge Campground – 7 miles west of Tulelake. Lava Beds National Monument Campground, KOA Campground, Mount Shasta, Circle 7 Campground –3 miles south of McCloud, Elk Creek Campground in Happy Camp. Waiiaka Campground & RV Park in Yreka.

Lakes: Castle Lake, Cliff Lake, Copco, Dead Falls, Grey Rock, Gumboot, Indian Tom, Iron Gate, Juanita, Kelly, McCloud, Medicine, Orr, Picyune, Porcupine, Red Rocks, Seven Lakes Basin, Shastina, Sheepy, Siskiyou, Toad, Kangaroo Lake. All within 45 minutes of Edgewood Estates. The closest Lake to the Park is Lake Shastina, which is about 10 minutes from the Park.

Rivers & Streams: Butte Creek, Clear Creek, Cold Creek, Dillon Creek, Eddy Creek, Elk Creek, Indian Creek, Klamath River, Little Shasta River, McCloud River, Mud Creek Parks Stream, Pilgrim Creek, Sacramento River, Salmon River, Scott River, Shasta River, Squaw Creek, Wagon Creek – all with 45 minutes of Edgewood Estates.

Bear, deer, fine feathered friends – special zones in the County. Best known is in the Tulelake area, which is about 45 minutes from the Park.

Boating, sailing, canoeing at Castle Lake, Copco Lake, Lake McCloud, Lake Siskiyou (rentals available), Medicine Lake. Windsurfing at Lake Siskiyou, Iron Gate Reservoir, Copco Lake & Lake Shastina. Water Skiing at Lake McCloud Copco, Medicine Lake and Iron Gate Reservoir. Swimming at Castle Lake, Copco Lake, Lake McCloud, Lake Siskiyou, Medicine Lake and Iron Gate Reservoir. Rafting and Kayaking on the Klamath River, Sacramento River and the Scott River. Pool swimming is also available in Dunsmuir, Montague, Mount Shasta, Weed & Yreka.

Golfing& Bowling

McCloud – 9-hole, Weed – 9-hole (and located less than 1/10^th of a mile from Edgewood Estates) –Montague –9-hole, Lake Shastina - 27-hole, Klamath River/Eagles Nest – 9-hole, Tulelake (Indian Camp Golf Course – 9-hole. Bowling Lanes in Dunsmuir, Fort Jones, Weed, Yreka and Tulelake.

Snow Sports

Cross Country Skiing: Castle Lake Cross Country Ski Area, just southeast of Mount Shasta City, Mount Shasta off Everitt Memorial Hwy and only 20 minutes from Edgewood Mobile Home Park Snowman’s Hill off Hwy 89, Lower slopes of Mount Eddy, off I-5 at Weed, Page Mountain in Happy Camp.

Downhill: Mount Shasta Ski Park – located just 4 miles north of Hwy. 89 on Everitt Hill Road and only 20 minutes from Edgewood Estates.

Snowmobiling: several designated areas on Mount Shasta, in the Eddy’s, in the Medicine Lake Area, Page Mountain is all available.

Glaciers on Mount Shasta, Soda Springs, start of the Alaskan Highway, headwater of the Sacramento River, Stewart Springs Mineral Baths, petroglyphs section of Lava Beds National Monument (Indian writings). California’s oldest trout fish hatchery in Mt. Shasta.
